BRING: a yoga mat and a blanket (any size).
WEAR: comfortable, layered clothing so you can move freely & also add/subtract layers for comfort (we will be doing yoga and at other times we will be more sedentary).

Lunch will be on your own, from 12:00pm-1:15pm. Bring a lunch and sit on the beach or plan to visit one of the nearby food establishments.

More about the presenters:

Amy and Ann have worked closely to fashion a retreat experience that is transformative, nurturing, uplifting, and fun. They look forward to sharing this event with you.

About Amy Sluss:

  • Amy Sluss is a certified Kripalu yoga teacher with advanced training in yoga for special populations, pranayama (breathing), meditation, and sequencing for every body. She teaches yoga locally at the Incline Village Recreation Center and is well known for helping everyone who enters the room feel welcome and successful with yoga (She provides lots of options so if you are a beginner do not worry, you are safe with Amy.)
  • Amy is also an RN who currently works as a hospice nurse. She specializes in working with grief and loss. You will feel safe and supported in Amy’s presence.
  • She has been trained and certified by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D. in the art of using story to process life experiences. She will be using select stories in our retreat that come from Dr. Estes book, Women Who Run with the Wolves.
  • Amy has been a workshop and program leader for over 20 years. She has led events for women, girls, and mother-daughter pairs. Her events consistently are rated (by participants) as a 10 (out of 10).
  • More than anything else Amy is a woman like you and me. She shares her humanity and her big heart with each group she leads.

About Ann Valdes:

  • Ann is a native of Reno, NV and for the past 25 years has enjoyed the beautiful community of Incline Village – and Lake Tahoe.
  • In 2014 Ann created Easel and Wine, a traveling-art party business that offers art experiences for groups at venues of their choice. She has become know for providing fun, accessible, and uplifting events featuring high quality art experiences (with no pressure).
  • Ann has a passion for fun and being with people – she is passionate about art, golf, wine tasting, traveling, yoga, and walking/hiking in the amazingly beautiful Tahoe area.
  • Ann participates in various non-profit organizations in Incline Village and is a well-known and loved community member.
